It has stunning views over Broadhaven Bay and is situated on a 20 acre site with direct access to its own pebbled beach and calm waters of the bay. Belmullet town is 6 mile away and only 8 mile away from blue flag award winning golden sandy beaches. It is 3 mile to the nearest shop where you can buy just about anything and the nearest Pub is about 1.5 mile away. A great home from home welcoming comfortable house in a great location for that get away from it all holiday and an ideal location as a base for exploring Co. Mayo.

ABOUT THE AREA

Belmullet is the capital of the Gaeltacht (irish speaking) region of Erris, an area that offers unspoilt beauty and glorious beaches, it is the ideal place for that get away from it all holiday. Belmullet town has about 1200 people and was established around 1820. It is unusual in having 2 major bays one is Blacksod bay and the other named Broadhaven bay, they each head up each end of the main street and connect by a canal running through the town.
Belmullet is well served with Shops, Banks, Bakery, Café's, Hotel, Hospital, Garages, Cinema, Dance hall, Community centre, Hairdressers, Beach Swimming pool filled by the ocean tide and also boasts 20 pubs. Also in the town centre there is a newly built playground for the youngsters.
Just outside the town centre and over looking the beautiful Broadhaven Bay is a new Hotel opened 2007, In which you can enjoy the use of their amenities, Such as Fitness Gym and Swimming Pool, also they do lovely breakfasts and main meals in the Restaurant / Bar at very reasonable prices. It is a good idea to call in as they have different functions on throughout the year.
A wide choice awaits you on your holiday, Swim or laze on the award winning blue flag beaches, Tread on the largest living bog land in Europe, Enjoy walks along sea cliffs or visit the many historic sites. So whether it is a fun packed holiday or a break away from it all this area has the lot and is a fantastic base from which to tour the area.

GOLF (Belmullet)
If you enjoy a round of Golf the Carne Golf Links www.carnegolflinks.com offers a challenging experience with unique breathtaking views of the coastline. It was voted number 43 among the top 100 greatest Golf courses outside the U.S. 2007 – 2008. Whether you are a pro or just a novice or even having a go just because you are on holiday you will be made to feel very welcome.

FISHING (Co Mayo)
It is famous for the rich fishing waters and to date 39 species of fish have been caught locally (try your hand at catching the 40th!!).

SURFING (Belmullet)
If you fancy something a little more energetic there is an Irish language activity camp nearby which offers surfing instruction for all the family. Good for all skill levels. The beech is on the westernmost part of county Mayo, with Atlantic swells coming in, There has been known to be 10 foot waves even during in summer but beware there can be a strong rip current at times.

PLAYGROUND (Belmullet)
For the young children there is a newly built Playground in the centre of Belmullet town.

WALKS AND BOAT TRIPS (Co Mayo & Belmullet)
There are some fantastic walks and Bird watching opportunities along the coastal line and the sharp eyed visitor can occasionally see Dolphin and Whales
out to sea. Also off the coast of the islands are home to a large number of grey Seals. There are plenty of boat trips from Belmullet town centre which offer a different view of the beautiful coast line and Sea Angling.

CROAGH PATRICK
Has been a pilgrimage site for hundreds of years in honour of Saint Patrick, Ireland's patron saint, Who fasted for 40 days on the summit of the mountain inn 441 and built a church there. On 'Peek Sunday' the last Sunday in July every year, Over 25,000 pilgrims climb the mountain, Many whom climb barefoot. Www.croagh-patrick.com

CEIDE FIELDS
Beneath the wild bog lands of North Mayo lies Ceide Fields, the most extensive stone age monument in the world, Field systems, Dwelling areas and Megalithic tombs of 5,000 years ago.
